Informatics invasiveness, reflective tools

We continue our trip on Informatics invasiveness, if you missed the first part you absolutely must read it Informatics invasiveness - Part One .

I feel protected I don’t accept cookies from strangers

The final frontier biscuit is the cookie with the freedom to be tracked or not, supported by a European regulation that has imposed informed consent. Google had to review the data collection model to please the European Data Protection Authority (taking the piss) the data is not collected or, better said, it is kept in a safe place in the clutches of Google’s Big Data, always and in any case even in the case of a negative opinion, ready to be exhumed when we knowingly or inadvertently express a favorable consent.

Here passes the concept that the data belongs to those that collected them and hold them close. Here it is worth further examining the technologies that have been put into play, which are always more sophisticated, Google and Apple have created armored tunnels where information flows without sharing it with other Big Data players... the war of you are mine and I’ll manage you has just begun.

Arrogance of european news organizations

Online information sites that do not care about the law put the web reader at loggerheads: either you accept cookies or you do not read anything, otherwise subscribe. There is something that does not make sense to me, if I accept I should read the article, not only do you track me and collect a large amount of data but you trick me by making me read something and then being forced to subscribe.

Online newspapers do not seem correct to me, accept cookies or subscribe, I cannot express myself negatively, something does not add up because then if I accept I read something but I have to subscribe in the meantime you collect my data taking the piss out of me.

The newspapers have an edge in collecting marketing data with daily analysis and here comes the best part, collecting family group information from the domestic IP context.

Do not accept cookies as per European legislation

What to do to read some online newspaper articles and not accept cookies with tracking protection… Use Firefox with the classic privacy extensions, namely uBlock Origin , Privacy Badger and to block the intrusiveness of consent popups PopUpOFF , you will have to set the Aggressive mode.

There is no need to express negatively to the consents, you must not be tracked at the origin

For both home and mobile users you must be active in reversing your IP in the tunnel that the VPN service offers you, deceiving traceability. Choosing VPNs is difficult, the last frontier is choosing VPN that allows the configuration WireGuard .

Question, but which VPNs do you recommend? From memory but, you need to check, they offer the WG service: Proton VPN and Mullvad VPN .

The layman’s question

I know it’s complicated, you don’t understand much… a VPN that offers WireGuard service, you should know that it is essential for use with your cell phone.

You can’t have a mobile phone without DNS protection + Firewall + Proxy

On your mobile phone you cannot have multiple VPNs running at the same time, so thanks to the fantastic software Rethink: DNS + Firewall + VPN you will be able to manage everything including the VPN.

Before closing

Computer scams are increasing out of all proportion and becoming more and more sophisticated, do not believe that banks will always protect you by taking on the cost of the scam unless strictly due to their own computer negligence. Expect banking applications (there are already those of the Italian Post Office) that violate the privacy of the mobile phone to search for applications and actions for which you, the user, are responsible, relieving the bank from reimbursement of the fraud.

Is your mobile phone constantly updated with security patches, does it have an up-to-date operating system?

There is nothing to do, you must necessarily change your cell phone because at the next fraud the banks will tell you that you have an obsolete cell phone and that you are careless in not having updated it and, therefore, your claimed scam will not be reimbursed and you will be left with a candle in your hand!

The solution?

The only solution I recommend and nothing else is to buy a new cell phone from the Pixel series by Google see the table of guaranteed updates and sleep soundly (but not too soundly).
